1. License & Usage
Alkali Softworks grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and run Lorebase standalone desktop software on devices you own or control.
You may use the software for personal, hobbyist, educational, or commercial writing and design work.
2. IP & Content Ownership
We claim absolutely no copyright, ownership, or intellectual property rights over any stories, texts, images, topographical coordinates, world structures, or maps that you create or compile using Lorebase.
The branding, logos, website layout, source code of our website and applications, design elements, and documentation remain the exclusive property of Alkali Softworks.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or distribute modified versions of Lorebase in a way that infringes our trademark rights, unless expressly permitted by an open-source license or prior written authorization from us.
4. Local Collaboration
Lorebase provides tools to run local co-editing sessions via Yjs peer-to-peer protocols. You are solely responsible for managing the security of your networks and authorization of users you invite to co-edit your local workspace files.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
LOREBASE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
ALTHOUGH WE STRIVE FOR ABSOLUTE RELIABILITY, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE FREE OF BUGS, CRASHES, OR ACCIDENTAL DATA CORRUPTION. WE STRONGLY ADVISE KEEPING INDEPENDENT BACKUPS OF YOUR WORKSPACE DIRECTORIES.
6. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL ALKALI SOFTWORKS OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA, CORRUPTED DATABASES, OR SYSTEM DISRUPTIONS.
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Alkali Softworks resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
8. Revisions to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. When we make revisions, we will update the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the website or desktop software constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
